ANOMALITH Review: Early Coverage and Demo Findings
ANOMALITH arrives October 28, 2026. What the demo, the Steam page and an early 6/10 review say about combat, length, performance and editions.

Table of Contents
Short answer: ANOMALITH is not out yet. The official Steam page says the game is not yet available and gives a planned unlock of October 28, 2026, so most of what you can read today is built on the public demo. A full review does exist — Noisy Pixel scored it 6/10 — and it lands where the demo impressions do: strong atmosphere and world-building, a combat-and-extraction loop that never quite locks together. The Steam page listed no user reviews on 2026-10-22.

What ANOMALITH actually is
A survival third-person shooter set in a version of Japan where "Anomaly Zones" tear open without warning. You play Reona Minazuki, 17, who joins the government-backed Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office as a "Diver" after her friend Arisa Kato vanishes inside a mall that anomalized. The core loop the developers describe is Dive, Retrieve, Return: enter a Zone, manage ammunition, decide what salvage is worth carrying, reach extraction, then spend the haul on weapons and gear.
The creative team is the selling point for a lot of people: scenario by Romeo Tanaka, character design by MON, music by Yuka Kitamura. The Steam tags lean hard on survival horror, surreal, psychological, extraction shooter, and 1980s.
The Nintendo store listing adds concrete system detail the Steam page doesn't spell out: 12 Anomalization Skills, gun customization through attachments, Artifacts looted from Zones for stat boosts, gear split into nine parts, and Dive Reports that fill in Anomaly ecology as you kill them.
What the demo shows — player accounts
These impressions come from a 30-minute demo playthrough and a full review video, both YouTube creators, so treat them as one player's experience of an unfinished build rather than measured facts.
| What worked for them | What frustrated them |
|---|---|
| Liminal, retro-Japanese locations — malls, hospitals, apartments — that twist familiar spaces | The demo build had no quick dodge; the player leaned on block and melee instead |
| Fast, responsive shooting; loot picks up instantly without hold-to-open timers | Combat defaults to gunfire; Anomalization Skills were easy to forget, and melee became a panic button |
| Base hub plus mission selection, with weapon upgrades and gear swapping between dives | Bag space limits force inventory juggling mid-run |
| Running acceptably on modest hardware (one player's older PC was choppy, not broken) | Reading story text while fighting; the playthrough author recommends English subtitles over raw Japanese |
One correction worth knowing if you saw older chatter: a Steam post from October 19, 2026 says streams and Let's Plays are welcome and publishes streaming guidelines plus a Fan Kit. The demo also had two patches — September 29, 2026 added a Survival difficulty, mouse support in menus and inventory, key rebinding, mouse sensitivity, and shortcut use of healing items; October 7, 2026 lets you develop one of the "Armed Schoolgirl" outfit sets after clearing the demo.

The full game: Noisy Pixel's 6/10
The clearest post-demo picture comes from Noisy Pixel's review, which describes a roughly 16–20 hour campaign. Their verdict is that three good ideas — third-person shooting, survival, exploration — were combined without enough glue.
- Narrative: Reona's motivation is set up early, but explanations arrive through coincidence and dialogue rather than earned plot; several rules change when the story needs them. The Japanese voice cast carries the emotional beats.
- Exploration: the strongest part. Revisiting earlier Zones with new traversal abilities and better gear is genuinely rewarding, even if the rewards mostly make Reona stronger.
- Survival and extraction: the weakest. Storage fills up, another portal is usually close, and the player is rarely forced to choose what to abandon.
- Progression: gun customization and Artifacts are stylish but shallow in practice — one heavily upgraded weapon can carry most encounters, which flattens weak-point and armor mechanics.
- Difficulty: generous. Retries don't send you far back, and stocking up makes bosses easier still.
Where accounts disagree
Two demo-era claims are worth flagging rather than repeating as fact. According to anomalith-wiki.wiki's demo write-up, early ammo drops feel punishing if you miss the skill-shot tutorial, and the demo scored 8.8/10 overall there. The playthrough above found ammo roughly sufficient for the opening area. The same community page calls cosmetics fully decoupled from stats; the official text is narrower — appearance can be swapped without changing stats, while the Switch listing notes each of the nine gear pieces affects Reona's stats. In practice that reads as layered gear with an appearance override, not stat-free fashion.
Performance and requirements
These are the official Steam figures. The page does not label them by resolution or preset, so don't read 1080p targets into them.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 (64-bit) | Windows 11 (64-bit) |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 12 GB | 16 GB |
| GPU | GTX 1050 Ti / RX 5500 XT | RTX 2060 / RX 5700 XT |
| DirectX | 11 | 11 |
| Storage | 40 GB | 40 GB |
Accessibility and input options on the Steam page include adjustable difficulty, adjustable text size, subtitle options, custom volume controls, and full controller support with Xbox controllers and DualSense over USB. The language table lists interface and subtitles for English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Korean, but full audio in Japanese only — which explains the subtitle-versus-action tension players keep mentioning.
If you hit stutter in cluttered indoor areas, lowering shadow quality is the usual first lever; the anomalith-wiki.wiki page suggests it as a community tip for frame stability, not a measured result, so test it yourself.

FAQ
Is there an ANOMALITH review I can trust before launch?
Only early material. The game unlocks October 28, 2026, the Steam page showed no user reviews on 2026-10-22, and the fullest assessment available here is Noisy Pixel's 6/10, which praises atmosphere and exploration while criticizing a survival loop that rarely pushes back.
How long is ANOMALITH?
One reviewer finished in about 16 to 20 hours, calling it a relatively short game. That is a single playthrough estimate, not a developer figure.
Can I play it before release?
Yes, through the demo linked on the Steam page. It has been patched twice, including a Survival difficulty and expanded mouse and keyboard options, and the developers ran it during Steam Next Fest as their last pre-release event.
Is ANOMALITH co-op or multiplayer?
The Steam page lists Single-player among its features and does not list multiplayer or co-op. The campaign is built around solo dives, resource management, and story progression.
